For me, writing is about way other things than making money. Don't get me wrong, if I could I'd love to, but currently I don't believe in myself as an author that makes a living out of it. Still though, it is more important to me than my work, which I also love!
Still, my work is a form of writing in itself: currently mostly trying to prove my colleagues did their work correctly, but moving into an area where formulating ideas becomes way more important. Research they call it, but basically it is playing with the endless possibilities of new technology!
