Nowadays, we depend on deliveries way more than in the past. Back in the days that the Internet was not yet a fact, we got our supplies from local stores, who usually brought their wares in from regional or national sources. Over the years, this has changed: the number of steps from producer to consumer has increased, and many of the products in our everyday stores come from far away countries.
Meanwhile logistics has become far more complex as well, and the software to keep track of it all has become more and more intertwined, and we named it logistics to make it sound logical. But is it really? In the meantime many people long for shorter lines, local products, and a simpler life.
